The Science Arcade is one of the iconic halls at the Ontario Science Centre where visitors get hands-on with experiments that help them understand the physical forces of our world. The hall was first launched in the 1970's and it was time for a comprehensive makeover.
I led the graphic redesign for this hall, with a vision for preserving the classic modernist look while updating it for contemporary audiences. Bold, engaging collage graphics and abstract light wall installations contrasted the minimal typographic treatment for the active experiment instructions. An iconic light wall installation featuring custom abstract art representing physical forces helped activate a previously unengaging space.
